New Tool: mooHorizonSlider
This slider class based on the mootools framework gives you an easy instrument into your hands to create a horizontal scroller in no time. Several adjustments make it easy to adapt it to the page you want: mooSlider - of course you can add a lightbox to the single images, allowing to bring them close to the viewing audience.

Tell-A-Friend for XT-Commerce AJAX

Having tried a tell-a-friend script for xt-commerce, we were disappointed what it offered - no subpage sending, just the domain name, utilizing a popup. Furthermore it doesn’t allow to use smtp authentication, only uses the mail() function of php.
So we thought, let’s do this better - said, done. Out came a nice mootools based tell-a-friend box, which fades smoothly into view, asks for user name, email and recipient’s mail. It then sends out a small mail with the page url, etc. A mySQL based date / time / IP check secures the server side, as it only allows a certain amount of mails per day from one IP. Demo at:

ultra-fast XT-Commerce search engine
XT-Commerce search
As the standard installation of XT-Commerce comes with a quite slow product search, we’ve refined the whole thing and added some nifty effects to the search results.
The main goal was to optimize the search engine for shops that have thousands of articles. The totally revamped search displays results in 1-3 seconds, from an article source of 500.000. It’s capable of searching just the title, the autor of a book ( written for a bookshop with extra fields ), and the product contents. Of course you can combine these searches or limit it to one field.
The resulting output is a plain list with the title of the articles, the short description and the price. Hovering on an article title will reveal the content of the extended description in a mootools based ( yes, the shop can do mootools ) tooltip.

mooSlideBox - lightbox replacement
mooSlideBox
The mooSlideBox v3 is a small and slim ajax based extension or replacement of the common "lightbox" that can be found on nearly every page.
This lightbox clone works in IE 6/7, Opera and Firefox.
It is based on the mootools framework.

mooColorFinder - read out CSS values of a website
mooColorFinder
This neat little tool extracts any color information, no matter if inline CSS, CSS files via import or link, and even if you have a master CSS file with references to other css files - mooColorFinder reads it out.
So, as long as a website specifies its CSS styles W3C conform, this script will find the colors used - yet not every other type of integration can be read, but 99% of the pages work out.
The output comes as a colorCloud, hovering over one of the squares reveals then the hex color code.
