So how is it spelled correctly? HTML5 or HTML 5? Two different ways of writing HTML5 was promoted by each WHATWG and W3C. The discussion now has come to an end. They came to the conclusion to write it without the space between HTML and 5. The conclusion and the compromise has been made as it is very bad for branding to go with two different pronounciations.

What’s it all about HTML5 ? What’s the difference to other HTML standards? HTML 5 specifies both a vocabulary and 2 serialisatoins – text/html and xhtml. There are some major advantages over older “slangs” of HTML while still being backward compatible. Here’s an excerpt of the basic features it provides:
