HTML5 links without referrer

As specified in the upcoming HTML5, links ( a and area tags ) can hold the rel tag “noreferrer” – which stops sending header information about the referring site.

Webkit’s nightly builds already support that. Developers can use this tag to implicitly prevent sending out the referrer. HTML5 specifies a number of other link-relations, including “Archives”, to reference materials with historical value, “Author” for links to information about the author, “External” for links to external documents, “License” for license information and also “Pingback” to specify a Pingback server, as well as “Prefetch” for preloading of pages in the background
