Free Website Thumbnails move to another server

Today, we are going to move our free screenshot service to another server, so the thumbnails will be unavailable for the next 2 days. We apologize for the timeout, but the huge demand forces us to get some new hardware where the script can run on. Yet, doing so will result in faster snapshots and less timeouts.

We will post the new URL in our blog here – please make sure to check back.

    Jetzt schreib ich mir hier nen Wolf auf Englisch und sehe gerade, dass Ihr in Deutschland sitzt. Hatte mich schon gewundert, warum alle Thumbnails auf einmal weg waren und schon angefangen, nach Alternativen zu suchen…

    Dann bin ich ja froh, dass binnen absehbarer Zeit wieder alles funktionieren wird und warte gespannt auf die neue Adresse…

      Hello Stefan,

      thanks – we’re currently compressing the last 2 GB of images ( which indeed is pretty slow due to the small file sizes ) and transfer them to the new server today. As soon as this is done, we’ll have the system properly configured and so – a cautious guess – we should be back online by tonite, latest tomorrow.

    Parameters for calling the image stay pretty much the same, no changes so far.
