bumpbox – no pdf plugin required anymore

Bumpbox without PDF plugin requirements
Great news, here we go. Gone the days when bumpbox relied on a pdf plugin to show off PDF’s. This makes it very convenient as neither MAC users need to find a suitable plugin, nor windows users have to go with the bloated Acrobat plugin. ( Or FoxIt ).

How it works
How you surely ask – simple, the answer. Utilizing google docs viewer, it is now possible to show off PDF’s easily. All you need to do is to make sure, your PDF is available online, and provide the full path to it. So “test.pdf” will not suffice, add the full domain path to it ( www.sample.com/mypdf.pdf ).

  1. Where can I get Bumpbox 1.5.3 because 1.5.2 still has the Mac PDF issue with Firefox. The link you provided only gives access to 1.5.2.

    • Admin:As Google Docs, specially the PDF viewer has a lot of bugs and only shows maybe 20% of the used PDF’s correctly, we decided to roll back the bumpbox to the old version. In case Google updates its PDF reader, we’re readding it, but until then, we’re not going to implement it. Sorry not to have any better news.

  2. Hello, how can i make the bumpbox, that is inside on a iframe, open outside of it?

    Thanks.
